Allan M.
Bahn graduated from the University of Massachusetts
and Northeastern University School of Law. Prior to
entering private practice he had a distinguished career
in New York City government.
Mr. Bahn started his legal career as a law clerk in the
Massachusetts Superior Court prior to joining the New
York County District Attorney’s office in 1989. There he
distinguished himself in the trial and rackets bureaus
prosecuting multi-national drug organizations and
organized crime groups operating in the construction
industry. While at the district attorney’s office he
tried and won dozens of complex felony cases.
Mr. Bahn later served in the New York City Department of
Investigation as Inspector General for the Departments
of Design & Construction and Transportation. As
inspector general he led numerous successful
investigations into municipal and contractor fraud and
corruption. Mr. Bahn was subsequently recruited by Mayor
Giuliani’s office to serve as Deputy Commissioner for
Facilities and Construction and Special Counsel in the
Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS)
where he directed a municipal construction and
facilities management program with budgets exceeding 200
million dollars a year.
His last
position prior to leaving government service was as
Deputy Inspector General and General Counsel at the New
York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority where
his mandate was to increase the professionalism of the
agency’s Legal/Investigations Division. Mr. Bahn was
responsible for directing the oversight of agencies
employing approximately 60,000 employees, with combined
operating and construction budgets in excess of 11
billion dollars per year. |
